These pumpkin puppuccinos are the perfect fall treat for your favorite doggo!
Some of my favorite things to do include dressing my dog’s up like jackasses and spoiling all of my pets as much as possible. So mission clearly accomplished with this post… just look at the photos. Hah. I love coming up with new treats for my dogs because obviously they’re good dogs and they deserve it. Earlier in the year, I posted the recipe for my sweet boy, Rupert’s birthday cake. Today, I have a pumpkin puppuccino recipe your dog with love just in time for fall!
No hate to Starbucks, but I wanted to give my dog’s something that would be a bit more healthy than a dollop of whipped cream in a cup. This pumpkin puppuccino is simple to make but your sweet babies will love it. Pumpkin puree, plain greek yogurt, whipped cream, and cinnamon is all you need to make this recipe. Simply combine the pumpkin and greek yogurt and cinnamon and top with a bit of whipped cream and sprinkle more of cinnamon to make it real cute, of course. You can also add a little bit of water to the pumpkin and yogurt if it is a bit too thick.
A few tablespoons of pumpkin is said to have a variety of benefits for a pup’s digestive health as well as contributing to a nice and shiny coat. This recipe has three tablespoons of pumpkin puree which is an acceptable amount for your pup. Be sure when you’re at the grocery store to buy 100 percent pure canned pumpkin. You don’t want to use pumpkin pie filling which has added sugar and flavors in it.
You’ll want to use plain nonfat greek yogurt for this recipe. Be sure not to get anything with added flavors or artificial sweeteners which can be harmful to your dog. Cinnamon is also said to have some health benefits for dogs when given in moderation.
If you’d like you can top the puppuccino with a swirl of whip cream. A small amount of whipped is supposed to be fine as long as you give it to them in moderation, and they are not known to be lactose intolerant. I used low fat whipped cream for my pups to reduce the calories.
My dogs absolutely loved these pumpkin puppuccinos and it was a great little treat to welcome fall. They definitely deserve a reward for being so cute and sweet all the time. Next time maybe I’ll figure out a yummy treat to make for my sweet kitty cats. Let me know in the comments below if you make this one and be sure to tag me on Instagram with any cute dog photos!
